Further Jikiden Reiki Studies
If after completing Jikiden Reiki Shoden and Okuden, you wish to teach others how to use Jikiden Reiki , you may want to become a Jikiden teacher or Shihan.
There are two levels of Jikiden Reiki teacher: Shinan- Kaku - Jikiden Reiki Apprentice Teacher and Shihan - Jikiden Reiki teacher.
Jikiden students who want to go on to teach Jikiden Reiki seminars are required to know the contents of the Shoden and Okuden seminars very well including being able to recite the Gokai or Five Reiki Principles in Japanese.
Shihan Kaku or Apprentice Teacher
The first level of Jikiden Reiki Teacher
If you intend to take the Shiha Kaku or Apprentice Teacher course, you must attend at least two Shoden and Okuden seminars, one of which is ideally taken with Tadao Yamaguchi, the founder of Jikiden Reiki , or with a Dai Shihan whom he has authorized to teach the Shihan Kaku level in addition fulfilling the requirements
other Shihan Kaku requirements. The goal of the seminar repetition is that the Shihan Kaku student is confident and competent to teach the practitioner level Jikiden Reiki . Shihan Kaku students are exprected to maintain the high standard of a Jikiden Reiki teachers.

Jikiden Reiki Shihan: the second level of Jikiden Reiki
Teacher
After
teaching at least 10 student Jikiden Reiki Shoden over a
period of at least six months to a year or more and
obtaining written feedback from at least 10 Jikiden Shoden
students, a Shihan Kaku or apprentice teacher may apply
to take a Shihan seminar and to become a Jikiden Reiki Shihan or Teacher. A Jikiden Reiki Shihan may teach both
the Shoden and Okuden level Jikiden seminars. Part of
becoming a Shihan involves ordering and purchasing the Gokai No Sho scroll
and pictures of Usui-sensei, Hayashi-sebsei and
Chiyoko-sensei from the Jikiden Reiki Institute. These
items are exhibited at each Jikiden Reiki seminar a
Shihan teaches.

A Shihan Kaku or assistant teacher can teach the Shoden level Jikiden Reiki seminar only. In order to apply to take the Shihan Kaku seminar, a Jikiden Reiki student must first treat at least 40 human beings hands-on For a minimum of 120 hours and document each treatment giving a short synopsis of each treatment . The cost of the Shihan Kaku seminar is currently $1,250 USD. Like all Jikiden Reiki students all Shihan-kaky are centrally registered with the Jikiden Reiki Institute in Kyoto, Japan. A good way to keep track of Jikiden treatments is
